As a trans too, I have to say that what I'm spewing is what I know.
But, as you questioned, I need to affirm that this is based on my belief and does not reflect either cultural or legal truth worldwide, because the entire concept change from country to country.
As an example, here in Brazil, you are legally a man when you have penis and a woman if you have not. There is no intersex. You may be MtF transgender until you become a full fledged woman (which is nice by the end, but pure bullshit to other intersexual people).
As there still no worldwide functional norms about this matter, I believe our own classification built over people we trust may be better.
If you want to contribute telling us how your classification works, I would gladly review mine to make it better.
P.S.: Anyway, my dream is a day where all these titles won't be necessary anymore, but as today these titles may represent lots of law and social matter, it still necessary =/
